Finding Eden by Mia SheridanDescription:

Finding Eden is the continuation, and conclusion, to Becoming Calder.

When the world as you know it has ended, when all that you love has been washed away, where do you find strength?

When the new world you’ve stepped into is as isolating as the last, when your heart is broken, and your future is unclear, where do you find hope?

Finding Eden is a story of strength, discovery, forgiveness, and undying love. It is about believing in your destiny and following the path that leads to peace.

THIS IS THE SECOND PART, AND CONCLUSION, IN A TWO-PART SIGN OF LOVE SERIES INSPIRED BY AQUARIUS (BECOMING CALDER SHOULD BE READ FIRST). New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and graphic sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Review:

This is the second book that comes after Becoming Calder.  It is fascinating to read about their lives after their whole world was destroyed.  They have no choice to continue living even though they think their lives are over.

“Eden, Eden, I was dead without you.  Oh God, I’ve been walking around like a ghost-half in this world, and half in the other.”

Eden is the silently strong type.  She has lost everything that has ever meant anything to her in this world.  But lucky for her, she finds more people who lover her for just her.  They give her the life she never knew she could have and builds her life even thought all the pain.  But once that life is ripped away from her, again, people she never thought she would see again land back into her life, giving her an identity.  Calder is the one that can heal her though…

“You, just you, with nothing else, no job, no house, no money, nothing.  Stripped bare.  You will always be enough for me.  You will always be my dream come true, my destiny.”

Calder is living half a life and with Xander’s help, he is trying to move on.  But when he unexpectedly runs into Eden, his world is flipped around.  The woman he thought was dead, is here again.  So much has changed but so little has too.  It is impossible to extinguish his love for her that burns so bright.  Finally things can be made right.

“I think…I think, Calder, that we have to figure out how to forgive, not for the people who wronged us, but for us.  WE can’t keep bitterness attached to our hearts because eventually, it might become part of us-so deeply ingrained we can’t work it back out.  I think we have to focus on the beauty we’ve been given in this life and make that the thing that defines us.  Because people defined by bitterness end up destroying themselves from the inside out, and eventually they destroy everyone who tries to love them, too.  That’s not going to be us.”

But when their previously life comes back to haunt them and turns all the focus all them, they want to run and hide.  All they want is to bask in each other.  But things have a way of turning their world upside down.  Finally though, there are answers whether they like them or not.

“And I thought to myself, even though life could be horrifying and earth-shattering, terrible adn tragic, it was also filled with moments of breathtaking beauty.  And sometimes you just had to laugh.”

What a fabulous conclusion to the story.  Such a unique story that was shrouded in mystery as well as reading about a destined love where they cannot help themselves but be together.  My only critique would be that it was, for me, a little slow in areas.  It was minor, but there.  But no matter that, it was an intense story worth reading.  Bravo Mia Sheridan!

4 and a half hearts
